Sinn Féin TDs in Donegal, Pádraig MacLochlainn and Pearse Doherty, pledge to stand with communities against any attempts to introduce domestic water charges, which they believe would disproportionately impact low-income households and pensioners. They argue that water charges don't reduce consumption and that the government should instead focus on funding Uisce Éireann's leakage reduction program and implementing recommendations for water conservation outlined in the Future Funding of Water Services Report.
